Frist edition, first impression. 252, [4]pp.  Red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on the spine. 12mo.  Cloth gently rounded at corners, slightly pushed in at ends of a lightly sunned spine.  Upper text block edge a little toned, remaining edges have a hint of spotting.  Free endpapers tanned, with a pencilled inscription on the front free endpaper else internally neat and clean.  Square and firmly tight.  In its original illustrated paper dust jacket, rubbed and chipped at edges with minor loss around the head of the spine and a couple of short, flat creased and short closed tears.  Dust wrapper now protected in Brodart-style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.
