First edition, first impression.  382pp.  Red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on the spine.   Maps on endpapers.  8vo.  Cloth gently rounded at spine tips.  Hint of dustiness to text block edges.  Gift inscription neatly inked on verso of front free endpaper.   Significant  chip on the fore-edge of page seventeen else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original, illustrated matte dust jacket, shelf worn, a little bumped on extreme edges, with heavy chap and significant loss at base of spine.
