14pp, 94pp, [4]. One of an edition limited to 230 copies. Quarter bound in cloth over plain card boards (boards a little discoloured at edges). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. When the eccentric clergyman and writer, Laurence Sterne died in 1768, the books from his library were sold to Todd and Sotheran, at the sign of the Golden Bible in Stonegate, York. The books fetched some 80 – more than did his horses and chaise. They were speedily catalogued and offered for sale ‘exceeding cheap’ on 23 August 1768. This is a facsimile reprint of that catalogue, with a scholarly introduction by Charles Whibley. Just over 9 inches tall. Slim 8vo.
