First edition, first impression.  270pp.  Blue cloth-covered boards, gilt-stamped lettering  (and a black cat) on the spine.  Cloth a little faded, gently rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends.  Heavily spotted on text block edges.  A little toning on endpapers, and some spotting on rear endpapers else internally neat and clean.  In its original, price-clipped dust jacket, rubbed all round edges, a little shelf worn, chapped at head of spine and along upper edge of rear panel, slightly toned on verso, short closed tear at spine base.
