The Fox in the Attic; The Wooden Shepherdess (The Human Predicament, Volumes I & II)

Complete in two volumes (it is said that Hughes intended The Human Predicament to be a three volume series but the third volume was never written). Both volumes first editions, first impressions.   352, [2]pp; 358, [2]pp.  Blue publisher’s cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vos.  The Fox in the Attic, published 1961:  Cloth just a little worn and gently rubbed at spine ends.  Hint of spotting on text block edges and hint of offset toning on endpapers, else internally neat. clean, bright and tight.  In its original worn dust wrapper, rubbed around edges, a little chipped on corners and spine ends and shelf worn.  The Wooden Shepherdess, published 1973 – a lovely bright and fresh copy, cloth a tad pushed at spine ends else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.  In its original dust wrapper, a little rubbed on extreme points, very slightly bumped at edges.  Price on inner front flap has been struck through in Biro, neatly. Dust wrappers now protected in an archival-quality Mylar wrapper fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.
