Hornblower and the Hotspur

First edition, first impression.  288pp.  Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth very slightly rubbed at spine tips, with hint of fading on extreme exposed edges.  Upper text block edge dust dulled, all edges a little toned. Pages a tad creamy else neat, clean and tight throughout.  In its original illustrated dust wrapper, not price clipped, a little rubbed around corners and spine ends, with a few small chips on edges.  Dust wrapper now protected in an archival-quality Mylar sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.

C S Forester’s Hornblower series of novels, of which there are eleven, isset during the Napoleonic wars and chronicle the career of Royal Navy officer, Horatio Hornblower. Hornblower and the Hotspur was the last of the series to be published (barring posthumously published unfinished novel) but is third in chronological order of the events related.
