A volume produced to mark the 50th anniversary of the Mond Nickel company – founded by Ludwig Mond to commercialise his discovery of nickel carbonyl and its potential applications, which grew to own mining fields in Ontario and manufacturing a range of nickel alloys. Its Clydach Refinery in Wales supplied nickel mesh to the Manhattan project. This history of the company was written by Alfred Charles Sturney, a long-term employee of the company and ultimately its head of publicity and public relations, although he is not credited in the volume itself.
