Green cloth-covered boards with gilt decorations and lettering on the front panel, gilt lettering on spine. Decorated endpapers. 8vo. Boards rounded at corners and spine ends, marked, bumped on lower leading corner, slight lean. A couple of mild marks om endpapers else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.
The Idler was a montly literary and humerous magazine edited by Jerome K Jerome between 1892 and 1911. Highlights of the issues in this collection include the first print edition of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s short science fiction story, The Los Amigos Fiasco, illustrated by George Hutchinson and .some serisalisation of Mark Twain’s The American Claimant, which Twain wrote with aid of phonographic dicatation, reputedly the first author to do so.
