First edition, first impression. 214pp.  Red cloth-covered boards with gilt initials on upper panel, gilt titles to spine.  Patterned, coloured endpapers.  8vo.  Volume is neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.  Dust jacket very slightly bumped on extreme edges, remains of previous price label in upper corner of front panel, price clipped.  Dust jacket now protected in an archival quality Mylar wrapper fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.

Irish playwright and novelist William Trevor (1928-2016) was an elder statesman of the Irish literary established and widely regarded as one of the finest short story writers of the 20th century.  This was his last collection of short stories, published posthumously.
