Reissue.  552pp.  Blue cloth-covered boards, gilt-stamped lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.  Text block edges a little dull.  Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.    In its original illustrated dust wrapper, lightly rubbed at edges and perhaps a tad faded.  

This is a big novel, a brilliant evocation of the atmosphere and the problems of life on a West Indian island, but also a dramatic story, packed full of incident and mounting tension as it weaves around the fortunes of a small group of islanders and their tangled histories.
