20 issues of Glaxo’s bulletin bound into one volume. Consecutive issues from July 1923 to March 1927 inclusive. The Bulletin was produced monthly until September 1924, there was then a pause with publication restarting on a bimonthly basis in September 1926. Unpaginated but circa 400pp. Bound in plain blue cloth boards with gilt titles on spine. All edges speckled red. Some colour printing, occasional coloured illustrations, numerous monochrome illustrations. 8vo. Cloth is a little faded, gently rubbed at corners and spine tips. Spine sunned. Some ink and pencil annotations on front paste down, endpapers very lightly foxed, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Packed full of articles relating to pharmacology, medicine, research etc., often promoting the work and products of Glaxo, with many contemporary advertisements etc. Articles include A Pharmacist of Note: G E Marfit; The Early Closing Heresy; Elements of a Perfect Food; The New Glaxo Showcards; Ostelin in Pharmacy and many, many more; plus lots of news, sales tips, and new product promotions. Amounting to a compelling if eclectic history of medicine during the period.
