Original ‘top secret’ envelope – issued with the first edition – containing 10 transit documents purporting to be from the office of the Prime Minister laid in. Quarter bound in red cloth cover decorated grey card boards (boards are strong, clean and tight, a little worn at edges and slightly rounded at spine ends). Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket (lightly bumped along upper edge, very slightly soiled). The dust jacket is now protected in an archival-quality mylar wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. Leonard Cyril Deighton is a British author whose works include cookery books, history and military history, but he is best known for his spy novels, including the series featuring the unnamed Harry Palmer.
