Partial set from one of the many incarnations of Nelson’s Classics Series, this from around 1950. Matching volumes with cream-coloured boards, gilt decoration to spine and red spine labels printed on. Upper text block edges coloured red. All four in original glassine over-jackets – scarce survivals as these were usually discarded by buyers. Very few marks on boards but some slight discolouration at extreme edges. Spines a little sunned. Internally all bright, crisp and clean. Oliver Twist: 506pp – small crack in glassine cover along rear cover fold. Tale of Two Cities: 384p. Finger mark on text block edge.
