Three matching volumes from George Bayntun’s definitive “Jorrocks’s Edition” of the 19th century sporting novels of R S Surtees. Beautifully bound in bright blue cloth with colourful decorations by John Leech. Each volume has a colour plate frontis, also by Leech and numerous b/w line drawings and wood engraving as vignettes and full page. Plain or Ringlets is extra-illustrated with eight additional full page illustrations. 8vo. Slightly worn on corners and each volume a little faded on spine but glorious front covers are bright and internally crisp and clean, barring hint of tanning on endpapers.

All in all a lovely set which would compliment any collection of sporting novels or pictorial bindings. Ideal gift.
