First edition, first printing.  208pp, colour plate frontispiece and occasional black and white illustrations in text.  Blue cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on spine.  Pale yellow endpapers.  8vo.  Volume is neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.  In its original, illustrated dust wrapper, very slightly bumped on extreme edges.  

The first full length biography of Thomas Linley the Younger (1756-1778), the precocious violinist and composer, sometimes referred to as ‘the English Mozart’.   His early promise was cut short by his death, at the age of 22, in a boating accident.
