First edition, first impression. 254pp. In black cloth effect boards with embossed skeletal hand on front panel, gilt titles stamped on spine. Cloth very slightly rounded at corners and spine tips. Minor spotting on text block edges. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight barring discreet previous owner’s name inked on front paste down. In its original dust jacket, rubbed and scuffed at corners, edges and folds, lightly chipped at spine ends. First issue dust jacket, priced at 15s and the brief biography continuing on rear flap. Dust jacket now protected in a Brodart-style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.
