First edition, first impression.  340pp.  Green cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth slightly pushed at spine ends.  Hint of shadowing on text block edges.  One of the blank pages at rear has a flat crease else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original illustrated, paper dust jacket.  Lightly bumped at edges, with short closed tear on lower edge, lightly shelf worn.

Storm Jameson (1891-1986) was an English author and journalist and President of PEN from 1938 to 1944).  Her novels and writing was popular and well-regarded at the time; she was a well-known figure, working at PEN with H.G. Wells, E.M. Forster, Rebecca West and others, but was largely overlooked critics and readers alike since.
