First edition, first printing.  xiv, 198pp, with several black and white plate illustrations.  Cloth-covered boards.  8vo.  An ex-lending library copy with stamps and label on the front free endpaper and occasional small stamps on copyright and final pages.  Boards rounded on corners and spine ends.  The dust wrapper has been adhered to the volume with a clear film sleeve.  Dust wrapper shelf worn, with film dented and lifted in places.  Internally neat, clean and tight (barring stated library markings).  Volume slightly skewed.

Not a pretty copy but clean, complete, firmly bound and very readable.

Rosalind Howard (died 1921), known as the radical countess, was an English aristocrat and an activist for women’s political rights and an active supporter of the temperance movements.
