[1963]44pp, with a portrait frontispiece of the author. Red cloth-covered boards with silver lettering on the upper panel. 8vo. Boards are rounded at corners and spine ends, a little worn and rubbed. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.

An epic length narrative verse reminiscent at least or perhaps a translation of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s sprawling Bengali songs into a single English epic verse, introduced by Ena Beech, who perhaps also wrote/translated the verse. The frontispieces is a portrait picture of Ena Beech and places her in New Delhi in 1945; the volume itself is undated but the British Library catalogue gives a publication date of 1963. A beautiful, evocative long-form poem. Hard to find – an intriguing vintage publication of a lyrical epic poem.
