Sixth edtion, ‘entirely re-written and enlarged’.  [ii] 140, iii-xpp.  Quarter bound in canvas over paper-covered boards.  Boards are heavily worn, rubbed and rounded at coners and browning.  Front hinge repaired and, more clumsily with browing sellotape, the first gutter.  Previous owner’s name, dated 1955, on first true leaf, again on the observations page and on the rear free endpaper.  A couple of strained and cracked gutters resulting in some loosening. Pages have some signs of fingering and softening to page edges.  Slight spotting on first and last few leaves.  Volume is borderline good/fair condition.

Some classic English and Europeab recipes adapted for ingredients and technquies available in India; some fusion dishes and some Indian tastes too, with general observations on approaches for Europeans cooking in India in the early 20th century and on the tools and equipment to use.
