Quarter bound in linen over card boards, all edges gilt (boards a little rubbed and marked at edges, mild white scuff at base on front, sunned spine, rounded at ends). Mild tanning on free endpapers, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Published as part of the ‘Lilliput Library’ for which a publisher’s catalogue is bound in at rear. Mabel Henrietta Spielmann (1862-1938) was a British author, married to art critic Marion Harry Spielmann. As well as several children’s books, she wrote on the life and works of Charlotte Bront� and more generally on the history of art. Her works include The Rainbow Book, Littledom Castle, The Child of the Air, Margery Redford, and My Son and I. Very hard to find; WorldCat identifies 9 copies held in libraries. Small 8vo.
