Parts I to XVI of ‘One Hundred Best Paintings’, issued in weekly parts in 1901. (Please note, this set lacks the last part, part XVII).  Each part is in large stiff card covers, printed titles with a pictorial onlay and contains circa 10-12pp, including several tipped in plates on card mounts, accompanied by brief notes on the artists and paintings, an, string bound into green cloth-covered portfolio.  Elephant folio.  Cloth is worn and tired, marked and stained, heavily rubbed, bumped and creased at ends of a rippled and sunned spine.  Some rippling and staining of cloth on verse from old water exposure.  Most of the parts have some damage to fore edges (not affecting plates or text) but are otherwise generally clean and tidy.  One detached page in part three and the covers of the last three parts show signs of old wash damage along the lower edge.

Published in weekly parts by Charles Letts & Co (perhaps better know as stationers and diary makers).
