First trade edition, first impression (published simultaneously with a hardcover edition which is generally considered to take precedence).  78pp. with portrait plate frontispiece (of Lenin) and numerous further tissue-guarded plate illustrations interleaved in text.  Printed in red and black.  Stiff card covers, illustrated.  4to.  Covers a little rubbed at edges in places; endpapers toned and some faint spotting on first and last few leaves else neat. clean, bright and tight throughout.  

Contains articles and speeches by Joseph Stalin praising Lenin as the leader of the Russian Communist Party,.  Stalin used these propagandist pieces to legitimatise his position as Lenin’s rightful successor – despite purging many of Lenin’s close comrades during the 1930s – and to establish a cult of personality around his own leadership of the party.
