First edition.  254pp, with one fold out colour plate illustration and many more illustrations and tables in text.  Red cloth-covered boards with gilt motif on upper panel, gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth a little pushed at spine ends and corners else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.  Some spotting on text block edges.  In its original dust wrapper,  worn, rubbed all round edges and folds with minor loss at spine ends.
