First edition, first impression. x, 838pp. In burgundy cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine. 8vo. Cloth gently rounded at corners and spine tips. Text block edges toned and dusty. Hint of shadowing on endpapers; previous owner’s name lightly pencilled on front free endpaper, else internally neat, clean and tight. In its original printed paper dust jacket, rubbed and chipped, chapped at spine head and along rear upper edge, faded and soiled.
