A single sheet type-written letter signed The Editors of Home Companion magazine, on The Amalgamated Press letterhead, dated March 19th, 1928. 8vo. The letter has been folded two ways, with commensurate creasing, and is just a little toned.
The letter, addressed to a reader of the Home Companion magazine, discusses methods for curing mole skins and concludes with a detailed methodology.
The Amalgamated Press was a British publisher of newspapers and magazines, founded in 1901 by Alfred Harmsworth to bring together many of his publishing ventures. At one time it was the largest publishing company in the world, owning titles such as the Daily Mirror, The Times, The Observer Newspaper and the Sunday Times as well as many story papers such as The Magnet and The Gem and Schoolgirls’ Own. The was eventually acquired by the Mirror Group and then IPC.
A nice piece ephemera shining a light on an era of print history long gone.
