First edition, 20th printing (1948). 248, [4]pp, with illustrated frontispiece and further full page monochrome illustrations interleafed in text, all by Thomas Henry. Red cloth-covered boards with black lettering on front and spine. 12mo. Cloth is faded around edges and heavily so over spine, gently rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends. Some spotting and browning on text block edges. Front hinge cracked and small dent at the top of the front free endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.
A nice, clean and strong copy of this fairly early reprint of the first Just William book.
