A full length biography of John Frost, the prominent leader of the Chartist Movement in South Wales in the first part of the 19th century, and of the events that led up to the attack on the Westgate Hotel in Newport in November 1839.  Frost took a prominent part in the riot, after which he was arrested and tried for treason, and sentenced to transportation for life.
