A tribute to and synopsis of the life and work of Mathilde Lloyd, a later Victorian lady who worked tirelessly to improve the life, welfare and education of London’s poor in the Clapham and Brixton areas. She was the daughter of Mons Zenone Vantini, one of the very few army officers remembered for his devotion and loyalty in Napoleon I’s will, leaving him a legacy of 20,000 francs.
