First edition. 280pp, colour frontispiece. Orange cloth-covered boards with black titles and decoration to front and spine. 8vo. Lightly rounded spine ends, light sun-fading along bottom of front board; quite cocked. Text block edges slightly foxed. Light tanning to free endpapers. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket has sun-faded spine, chipping at spine ends and edges with small tear at top front joint. Dust jacket now protected in an archival-quality Mylar wrapper fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.

The story of two boys in the early part of Charles I’s reign, their adventures as they travelled the country and appeared before the King and Queen as members of “Their Majesties’ Company of Players.” They encountered many adventures and mishaps which culminated in the arrest and sentence to transportation for one of them.
