First edition, first printing.  Signed and dated by the author on the title page.  xvi, 168pp, profusely illustrated in colour and black and white.  Blue leatherette boards with gilt titles on the upper panel.  Beige endpapers.  8vo.  There is one slightly strained gutter (between the introduction and the first page of chapter one) else the volume is neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.  In its original illustrated dust wrapper, not price clipped, very slightly bumped along extreme edges in places.  Dust wrapper now presented in an archival-quality Mylar wrapper which has been fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.  

A very hard t0 find title detailing the history of the Governors of Malta who served between 1813 and 1964, with further chapters on Lieutenant Governors and Chief Secretaries and appendices covering British representatives, Civil Commissioners, Public Secretaries etc.
