1st edition, 3rd impression (1950). 192pp. Original red cloth-covered boards with black lettering to spine and cover. Blue and black pictorial endpapers & numerous line illustrations throughout, including full page two-tone illustrations. Boards crisp and clean with very slight rubbing to extremities. Very slightly cocked. Cloth a little rubbed at head and heel spine. Occasional light spotting on outer pages and text block edges, otherwise internally clean and fresh. Dust jacket chipped on front edges and folds with small loss at head of spine, now protected in removable, transparent protective sleeve of archival quality. Overall a decent, clean copy of this children’s classic.
