Brown cloth-covered boards with gilt decorations and lettering front and spine. 260, [4]pp, with illustrated frontispiece and several further full page illustrations and occasional page decorations and vignettes. Title page printed in red and black. 8vo. Cloth is heavily worn, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, heavily sunned over spine. Text block edges toned. Front endpapers have two previous owners names, one partially erased, bleeding through to opposite page; stamp on rear endpaper; endpapers soiled and spotted, with cracked hinges, else some faint spotting and mild soiling throughout. Text block firm and square.
