First UK edition, first printing.. xx, [4], 354pp. Dark red cloth-covered boards with blind embossed decorations and gilt lettering on upper panel and spine. Coated brown endpapers, deckled page edges. 8vo. Cloth is worn, rubbed at spine ends and sunned over spine. Deckled edges toned, bumped and dusty. Previous owner’s name neatly inked on the half-title page, with some spotting and marginal toning of page faces throughout. Gutter between pp352-3 strained but holding.
