The Cruise of the Cachalot is an 1898 semi-autobiographical travel narrative of a whaling expedition from a seaman’s perspective. The Log of the Sea-Waif, originally published a year later in 1899, is Bullen’s vivid account of his early years at sea in the days of sail.
