First edition, first printing.  96pp, plus black and white plate illustrations.  Green cloth-covered boards, gilt-stamped lettering on the spine and upper panel.  Deckled edges. 12mo.  Cloth is worn and faded, rounded at corners, rubbed and pushed at spines.  Previous owner’s name, dated 1913, inked on the front paste down.  Some scattered foxing on first and last few leaves. Some cracked gutters, binding fragile.

A history Acton Baptist Church from its establishment in 1865 to its jubilee year of 1915, written by the then vicar of the church, the Rev E J Tongue. So discursive is the narrative, it becomes as much a history of Acton (now in the London borough of Ealing) itself as much as of the church and its ministry.   Very hard to find title.
