First edition, first printing. 192pp, with numerous black and white photographic illustrations in text.  Red cloth boards with black lettering on the spine.  Cloth unevenly faded, a little rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.  Small stain on fore edge affecting first three of four leaves, hint of spotting on endpapers, else internally neat and clean.  Firmly bound.

The well-researched story Guy Burgess and Donald Mclean, the British diplomats and Soviet Union double agents who defected to the Soviet Union in 1951, in the early years of the Cold War, leading to a serious breach in cop-operation between the USA and the UK in intelligence sharing and causing long-lasting demoralisation in the British foreign and diplomatic services.
