The biography of Dr Felix Kersten (1898-1960), the personal therapist to Heinrich Himmler whom, it is claimed, was able to exert mystic powers over Himmler through the use of his hands.  Kersten was later to write that he only accepted the position because he feared for his life if he didn’t.  In his memoirs, Kersten took credit for saving hundreds of lives – preventing the forced deportation of the entire Dutch population for instance – but many of Kersten’s documents have had their authority challenged by later historians.
