Undated but circa 1905. 50pp, [8], with illustrated frontispiece. In red cloth-covered boards with black lettering and illustrations on front. 16mo. Boards worn and soiled, with cloth a little rippled, sunned over spine. Front free endpaper tanned. Prize presentation plate on front free endpaper, indicating the volume was presented to Eddy James in 1909. Light spotting and some smudge marks throughout. A little loose. A very hard to find title. No author stated but likely by Juliana Horatia Ewing, an author admired by Rudyard Kipling and E Nesbit. Her 1865 story, The Brownies, inspired the Baden-Powells to call the junior level of the Girl Guides Brownies.
