Helen Steiner Rice’s poems were written to commemorate events. She often sent specially composed verses and poems to others – congratulations to a niece on her marriage for instance, or expressions of joy to a co-worker on the birth of their children, or offering solace to a grieving friend. In this volume, a series of her friends reflect upon her life and the meaning of her work.
