Licensed Sept. 27, 1675. Roger L’Estrange. [2] [4] 157 [5]. Frontispiece absent. Quarter bound in calf leather over marbled boards (front board detached, the rear one nearly so leather worn, rubbed and rounded at corners, backstrip missing). Old, crude tape repairs to what anyway appear to be replacement endpapers. Pages a little browned and some minor spotting, title page soiled, else text block is sound and tidy barring the occasional nick or crease on edges and corners. Previous owner’s name opposite title page, and a couple of ink annotations in text. A scarce title from the era of the early printed book, this volume is suitable for rebinding. A poetic interpretation of Benjamin Keach’s ‘Divine Poem’, Warre With the Devil’. Later published as War with the Devil, The Second Part, which is not the second part of Keach’s poem but an interpretation of it. Small 16mo (14m tall).
