Upper text block edge a little dust dulled; cloth very slightly rounded at spine tips else volume is neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. In tis original matte, printed dust jacket, price clipped, lightly rubbed on edges and, more markedly, at spine tips; spine slightly sunned.

First published in 1890, drawn up by Sir George Laurence Gomme, and then titled Handbook of Folklore Collection, was substantially revised and expanded by Charlotte ‘Lotty’ Burne and published by the Folklore Society in 1914. It remains the standard authority of its type. This 1957 reprint includes a brief addendum by the then President of the Folk-lore Society.
