First edition, first printing.  358pp, with half-tone plate frontispiece, 25 further half-tone plate illustrations and further illustrations in text.  Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth is a little rubbed at spine tips and gently rounded on corners,  Some slight and mild spotting on text block edges else volume is neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original matte, illustrated dust jacket, chipped and nicked at edges, with some minor loss at the head of the spine, a little toning and browning on the interior, generally shelf worn.
