A scarce volume, Little Wars sets out the rules for a game with toy soldiers, devised and written by the novelist H G Wells, with some inspiration from this friend and fellow novelist Jerome K Jerome. Setting out a fairly simple game, involving a toy 4.7 inch gun shooting wooden dowels at the enemy soldiers, the book also hints at some commentary on war and reveals Wells’ stance as a pacifist. Includes illustrations and photographs of the game being played.
