First edition.  206pp, with a coloured frontispiece. A separate 30pp booklet, A Plea for GBS, bound in a pocket at rear.  In mustard cloth boards with gilt motif on front and gilt lettering on spine.  8vo.  Cloth is soiled in margins, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.  Upper text block edge dust darkened.  Internally a little toning and spotting on endpapers else neat, clean, bright and tight.

The unusual and pleasing frontispiece is a version of Ellen Terry’s bookplate which was designed for her by Edward Gordon Craig, the author of this book.  The booklet at the rear, A Plea for GBS, regards the publication of correspondence between George Bernard Shaw and Ellen Terry.
