The Classics Club

The Classics ClubThe Classics Club is a club created to inspire people to read and blog about classic books.  It aims to unite readers across the world, via the internet, and to inspire them to make classic literature part of their daily lives. There’s no time limit on joining and everyone is made most welcome, as long as you’re willing to sign up to read and write on your blog about 50+ classic books in at most five years. The perk is that, not only will you have read 50+ incredible (or at the very least thought-provoking) works in five years, you’ll get to do it along with others and have the opportunity to discuss these works with them.

Here’s how it works:

You choose 50+ classics you want to read

You list them at your blog

You choose a reading completion goal date up to five years in the future and note that date on your classics list of 50+ titles

Then send the Classics Club moderators a link to your list and it will be posted on the Classics Club Members Page

Start reading!

Blog about each book on your list as you read it and link it to the entry for that book on your main list and submit link to the Classics Club (don’t worry, they’ve made it very easy to do).  You review can then be easily seen by other members of the club.

When you’ve written about every single title on your list, let the Classics Club know.

The good people at the Classics Club also run a number of related virtual community events, such as reading challenges, monthly spins, dares etc.  But you don’t have to take part in any of these if you don’t wish to.

Please note, BookAddiction does not administer The Classics Club and is not affiliated to the Club in any way other than being a member.

Here’s my list: Reading 50 literary classics in five years.
