First edition, first impression.  90pp, with line drawings.  Orange cloth-covered boars with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth a little pushed at corners rounded at spine ends, a tad faded over spine.  Some tanning and spotting on endpapers, with a hint of toning throughout, else internally neat and clean.  Firmly bound.  In its original illustrated dust wrapper, price clipped, toned and spotted, chipped and rubbed around edges, shelf worn.  Dust wrapper now protected in an archival-quality Mylar wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.

A hard to find collection of humorous verses from John Collings Squire, the once popular but now largely, and unjustly, overlooked English historian, writer and literary editor.  Squire occasionally wrote under the pen-name Solomon Eagle.
