First edition, first impression. 238pp, with 48pp of plate illustrations and nine maps. Deep blue cloth-covered boards, gilt lettering on spine. 8vo. Cloth is rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, a little marked and tired. Text block edges slightly toned and darkened. A few minor marks on endpapers and a hint of page toning to first and last few true leaves. In a worn, chapped and rubbed dust jacket, a little sunned over spine, visible shelf wear on verso, with some minor loss around corners and spine ends.
