A set of four vintage hardbacks of classic novels, all dating from the 1930s. Uniformly bound in red cloth with gilt lettering and decoration on the spines and blind embossed vignette on upper panels. Each volume lightly illustrated with line drawings, and with a scholarly introduction. Upper text block edges sprayed red. 8vos. Cloth covers are a little tired, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, with sunned spines on all four volumes. Text block edges have traces of having been dusty. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.

A pleasing, matching set of classic literature, albeit showing a patina of age and use.
