First edition, first impression.  100pp, with many monochrome photograph plates, some plans in text and a large, folding coloured map of the departments and colleges of the University of London bound in at rear.  Green cloth-covered boards,  8vo.  Cloth is a little tired with some mild marks, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.  Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.

Although the author and photographer is not credited in the volume, it is widely believed to have been written by Mark Oliver Dell, the prominent British architect and pictorial photographer who was one half of Dell & Wainwright.  This volume provides a record of the design and construction of the University of London’s Senate House and Library, designed by Charles Holden and widely considered a masterpiece of Art Deco and Neoclassical architecture. (and the inspiration behind the Ministry of Truth that George Orwell created in 1984 – his wife worked there).
